Our film camera is currently in surgery.....
Our poorly Sony Z1 is currently in surgery with the lovely Paul at Stanley Productions and should be back fighting fit with us next week - hurrah! It turns out loose screws can cause quite a bit of damage!

Film times for www! at BFI 3rd Future Film...
The Special Ones will be shown in the Future Film Shorts Programme 1: The Generation Gap strand on both Friday 5th Feb at 2 - 3pm and Saturday 6th Feb at 4.30 - 5.30pm.
Depression Diary will be shown in the Future Film Shorts Programme 2: Future Film Choice on both Friday 5th Feb at 5 - 6pm and Sunday 7th Feb at 2 - 3pm

Even more amazing news!!
Two films from www! 2008-9 have been selected to appear in the BFI 3rd Future Film Festival!!
Depression Diary and The Special Ones will both be screened at some point over the weekend of Feb 5-7th, (actual dates to follow), and it’s free to attend, check out their website for more details. The filmmakers can attend a special awards ceremony on Friday and there are media workshops to take...

A busy week!
This week has been a particularly busy one for www! The weekend saw the first film group head out to shoot their film with Satu and Dodge from Shake Ur Arts. Lara, Bisi and Tatyana were all ready to film, but unfortunately the camera wasn’t! Not quite sure what’s wrong with it, but I’ve sent it to camera hospital Stanley Productions, the lovely people there will tell me soon...

www! film wins an award!!
We’ve had some great news! One of the films made on last year’s what we want! project has won a BT Seen and Heard Award. Samantha Ma’s film, entitled ‘Depression Diary’, is a hard hitting drama about depression in teenagers. Samantha will be going to collect her award at a ceremony in March.

www! 2008-9 photos in exhibition
We’re very excited that last years www! photography projects are all currently on display and available for public viewing. There are a selection of photos in the cafe at The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, whilst some photos are up at The View Tube overlooking the construction of London’s Olympic Park.

January training
Sat 23 and Sun 24 Jan saw all the www! film and photography projects coming in for some training on camera equipment. It was a fantastic opportunity for all the groups to come together and learn what stage everyone was up to, and the issues they were facing.
The photographers followed on from their initial November training learning about the intricacies of white balance, whilst the film makers...
