Limelight Film & Arts Award 2011 - submissions...
The Annual short Film awards that celebrates, promotes and recognises rising and community based film makers, takes place on Thursday the 23rd June 2011. Amazing news just in, ‘Home Sweet Home’, made by Safeen, Abida and Nadeya on the last what we want! programme, is up for an award at the 8th National Young Filmmakers’ Award taking place in April as part of Leeds Young People’s Film Festival.

Private view last night!
I’m still glowing from the amazing private view last night for the five films and five photography projects created as part of this years what we want!
The work is incredible, and I urge you all to go and see it at the free public exhibition. It’s on until this Sunday 28 November at Maverik Showrooms in Shoreditch.

spraymounting galore!
Lots of last minute spraymounting and chasing of photograph prints has been happening the last few days in preparation for putting up the exhibition on Monday.
Everything looks amazing that’s come in, and the Lulu books look fantastic too. Ben from Chocolate Films bought the finished films in this week, and they’re incredible. I can’t wait for everyone to see them.

Public Speaking training
Last night, the www!ers met together again for the first time since post-production for public speaking training from Jonathan Drew Training. This is in preparation for the private view of the exhibition where they will be presenting their films and photography projects to friends, family, funders and special guests.

Phew! And the manic post-production week is over! I’ve been so impressed by everyone’s efforts over the past week to get everything done, and seeing the projects take shape has been really exciting.

Post Production has begun!
This morning saw all the www!ers gather at Tower Hamlets CLC centre to begin their intense week of post-production. With some of the groups at different stages, a lot of hard work is needed to get the finished result. I had a sneak peak at everyone’s work, and what I saw was incredible, I can’t wait to see it progress over the week.

Showcase meeting with www!ers

I attended the BT Seen and Heard awards to collect an award for my film Depression Diary. We arrived at the Houses of Parliament, the place was surrounded with guards and they scanned my bag and coat just like at airports. The musician from my film was already there and came and introduced herself to me, I had not had a proper chance to talk to her since the first screening of my film last year....

Post-production has begun!
Well done to everyone today for turning up to the first day of post-production! A few hiccups with equipment but things soon settled down for everyone to get stuck in and begin to craft their final project. Thanks to everyone at Central Foundation Girls School for being so accomodating and letting us use their facilities, particularly Ben, Tina and Tomasz and the premises staff.

Depression Diary wins another award!
Samantha’s film Depression Diary enjoyed even more success at the Youth Film Day during the Wood Green International Short Film Festival. The audience voted her film the best of that session, and she won a mini HD camera and other camera related goodies! Amazing news!
